Seminars and Conferences
Associates in both tracks come together from their respective hospitals several times a year to participate in Executive Development seminars. Additionally, all associates will attend a yearly external healthcare leadership conference. Below is a typical annual schedule for the program’s seminars and conferences.
The application cycle for the 2012 cohort runs from November 15th through January 6th.
- Program Orientation
- Duration: Four Days
- Location: Nashville
- Participants: New COO and CNO Associates and Mentors
- Objective: New associates and mentors will learn about leadership development, organizational priorities and the requirements for successfully completing the program.
- Clinical Services / Physician Relations
- Duration: Five Days
- Location: Nashville
- Participants: First-year CNO and COO Associates
- Objective: Associates will learn about regulatory issues and the link between providing quality patient care and HCA’s core values and initiatives. Associates will also be exposed to the issues and complexities involved in working with one of our major stakeholders—the physician.
- Operations—Market Perspective
- Duration: Five Days
- Location: Nashville
- Participants: First-year CNO and COO Associates
- Objective: Associates will learn about HCA’s strategic planning and execution process for market-level initiatives by completing a “live” project.
- Operations—Facility Perspective
- Duration: Five Days
- Location: Nashville
- Participants: First-year CNO and COO Associates
- Objective: Associates will enhance their critical thinking skills and complete a concentrated budgeting process involving financial, business and demographic information.
- Executive Development Leadership Seminar
- Duration: Five Days
- Location: Nashville
- Participants: All Associates; Mentors on Mentor Day
- Objective: Associates will develop a full complement of leadership skills and grow as leaders.
